July is ruby or red. I really like red; it can symbolize fire, which is definitely appropriate for Norfolk in July. This month I am featuring a set of doors in the Ghent section of Norfolk. I saw a beautiful light fixture while out, which is great since it's what this project is all about. A Le Creuset coffee press with a cardinal cup. Outdoor chairs at Cogan's Pizza. I walked through Home Depot, and I saw these wire nuts and thought they would work great for this month. A red Yeti mug, a lifesaver in the winter and keeps ice cold in the summer. Lastly, the amazing barrel room at Hall Winery in Napa Valley combines art with function.

This is part of a year-long project to refresh my creativity and train my eye a little more on seeing colors. Throughout 2021 I will post images at the end of each month that will have some relationship to that month's birthstone/color. Some of the photographs will be of my regular work, architecture, drone, or food, but hopefully, some will come from new content I see throughout the month. Training myself to slow down and see the area around me differently.
