I have decided to start a year-long project to refresh my creativity and train my eye a little more on seeing colors. Throughout 2021 I will post images at the end of each month that will have some relationship to that month's birthstone/color. Some of the photographs will be of my regular work, but hopefully, most will come from new content I see throughout the month. Training myself to slow down and see the area around me differently.
So January is garnet or dark red. I really like dark red. This month I am featuring interior design photography with an island and built-in cabinet by Kathryn Salyer Design, a little food photography with a beet I was cooking with, a Manhattan (my favorite drink), and red wine filling a glass at a blind tasting. A cat laying in front of some deep red curtains. A pansy that blooms all winter in Norfolk, Virginia, and finally a red napkin I was getting ready to pack up after the holidays.
Let me know how you think I did with January.
