I get asked quite often how I have become involved with medical photography. I donate my services for the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk for the NICU Wall of Fame. These are portraits of some of the most amazing children who have fought as the tiniest little warriors to get to good health. It all started with a baby named Gus born at one pound, three ounces. For the past five years, I have photographed Gus' Christmas pictures. The first was done in the NICU wearing the tiniest Santa hat made for a doll and holding a candy cane almost as big as him. The following year CHKD's NICU used it as their Christmas card. It led to an article and cover of Gus for the CHKD Kids Stuff magazine. From there a new area of medical photography was born. So please enjoy these images of Gus and the last one of him holding a photograph of the first one.
